When I found out that my neighbour 2 down was having a baby this year it got me thinking...
Not just because I love babies and am so delighted at the healthy arrival of Prince George ( if a little jealous that I didn't look quite as glowing as Kate after my failed forceps and emergency c-section), but because both my immediate neighbours on either side of me are also procreating and, after a bit of Googling, I realised it isn't just my terrace it is the whole of Britain and we are experiencing a baby boom.
Why? It was an unseasonably long and cold winter, book groups were unashamedly discussing 50 Shades Of Grey and and all those baby boomers of the 70's who are finally putting their careers on hold are all viable reasons, but, my hunch is, that it had more to do with Tom Daly's performance last year at the Olympics putting us all in the mood for a bit of merrymaking.
