Happy Times

I started The Hooded Towel Co. in 2013 with the sole ambition of providing great quality, soft, hooded towels in a range of sizes.
Inspiration came from the many days and hours I spent with our 3 children at our seaside home near Oban where activities, whether inside or out, always have the aroma of seaweed, and washing is undertaken infrequently and mainly in the sea.
Our favourite activity is musseling, not some sort of arm wrestling, but a frantic search under "mussel rock" to collect shellfish before the high tide comes in, then back to the house to pop them on the barbie, in the smoker or into the moule mariniere.
Another one of our foraging activities involves fishing for mackerel from our little boat named Tepco. It's very tedious to get the kids all done up in their life jackets etc, but the delight in landing 'their own' fish kind of makes up for it. My pleasure mainly comes from not having to hand over any money for it, I'm sure I'm just one step away from being a freegan.


Anyway, the life up here involves towels, lots of them and I found the poncho style hooded towels the most useful as the kids didn't keep dropping them. But after finding they grew out of the regular sized hooded towels, I made some large ones that they still use today. And The Hooded Towel Co. was born!
